Disk & File Format
We deal with artwork from external sources every day and are happy to answer any questions you may have on the technical aspects of supplying us with artwork.
Supplying the Files
We can accept the following media types: 3.5inch Floppy Disks, Compact Discs, DVD Discs. In addition to this we can accept the artwork by email. If sending files by this method, it is better (and faster) to compress the files before sending them. Stuffit should be used for Mac files and Winzip for PC files.
Software Packages
We work with many different industry standard programmes. We work primarily on Apple Macintosh computers but can deal with certain PC files. The most common ones are listed. For any other programmes, please check with us.

How to Supply Files
When you send us the files, please bear in mind the following points:

All linked graphics and fonts must be included on the disk.
|

Graphics, logos, photographs and illustrations must be saved as CMYK colour format rather than RGB, if being used for full colour work. RGB files do not separate properly and can produce incorrect colours ranging from dull images to greyscale pictures, sometimes they can look acceptable, but the risk is yours.

Graphics, logos, photographs and illustrations should be saved as the correct spot colour or as a greyscale .tif file if the job is being printed in spot colours.

Non-vector graphics must be at least 150dpi if being printed at 100% size, higher resolution if being enlarged. (A typical web image is 72dpi and will appear pixelated when printed). |

Graphics placed within files should not be modified after the host document has been saved. |
| • |
All text, images and graphic elements must have the correct knockout and overprint settings.

| • |
All jobs must have at least 2mm bleed on all edges.
|
| • |
A hardcopy of the job should always be supplied to give us something to check against.
|
| • |
Jobs created in Photoshop should have a resolution of at least 300dpi.
|
| • |
Jobs should be set as ‘one up’ to allow us to impose the job in the most efficient way for printing. |

Booklets should be set up as a single page or spreads to view.
